Ok we're talking about fries. Deep fried potatoes. Places like in n out literally make them in front of you. You aren't going to do it any cheaper or healthier at home.

The "average" person doesn't "look down" on fast food workers and who tf is this "we" making fun of them?

And what exactly is the problem with cellulose? It's an extremely abundant plant based protein. It makes food have a better texture and doesn't effect the taste. Do you not eat salad because it has cellulose in the lettuce leafs?

We're like 5 comments deep in a Lemmy meme thread about a recycled webcomic and you think I'm undermining actual efforts to end slavery? You're actually stupid lol. Please explain to me where the "actual effort" is so I can laugh at you more than I already am.

I'm sure the people in slavery are really happy that slavery is at its lowest level per capita in recorded human history!

But yeah it is such a big problem we need a lot of effort in solving. It's not like you just can't enslave people or anything. Gosh I hope people come up with something eventually because I can't think of one dang solution to this big ol problem.

You have multiple bosses that make 5 times your salary? The fuck do you do for work?

There are documentaries showing Chinese prisoners being forced to peel garlic to the point they lose fingernails. The US levied heavy tariffs due to the dumping (fine with slave labor though I guess), then the Chinese used other countries as a middle man to get around them. I doubt it's a national security risk, but it's absolutely fucked up.

Don't buy peeled garlic.
