You delete comments here as well?

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Sometimes, there is no documentation for the problem you're having, especially if you're dealing with proprietery solutions.

Oh, yeah, makes sence in that case. Thought it was some other general information, like troubleshooting info.

I can get behind stuff like this, sure, but not with stuff like I posted ๐Ÿ˜’. There was valuable info there that could've solved my problem in an instant, but I just had to go the long way around ๐Ÿ˜’.

Yet they still need to catch up on the latest gossip about their kids or the new newigbour who someone saw naked doing OF stuff in front of a camera ๐Ÿ˜’... like who gives AF, it's their business, not mine, why would would anyone care about someone else's business is beyond me.

Could I ask why you would delete your own comments after a week of two?

[โ€“] [email protected] -2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Doesn't matter, I have no idea who the user is.

[โ€“] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

I did... zero replies ๐Ÿ˜’. And I asked on reddit as well. Didn't get an exact answer, but at least I got pointed in the right direction.

Not affect anyone, it will affect search engines... but, not much nore than that.

And the protests proved inaffective, as I initially thought and said to many, just move, no need to protest, just leave for Lemmy and leave your accounts. That was all that was needed and no protest in the world is gonna beat reddit or the admins that will just overried your NSFW settings. Leaving the platform says way more than protesting this or that.

And no, if the point of the protest was to just delete all info from reddit, then I would've never been behind that protest. The delete everything idea was promoted by some extreme protesters and unfortunatelly, some users went allong with that.

That's not the point... it was eight there... right there, no need to dig deeper... and it wasn't like a 30GB bluray rip went missing, it was just a few lines of text, a few very valuable lines of text... but no, some people thought it's more imoortant to protest than the freedom of information ๐Ÿ˜’... info that they once shared BTW, no one forced them to do it, but no, some of the protesters thought it was a good idea yo delete all of the content and their accounts... please explain how this is a good idea.

[โ€“] [email protected] -3 points 1 year ago

Didn't know where to put it... just thought might pass as a meme...

They're gonna profit regardless if you leave the info there or not, AI has already scraped that info. The only ones that get the sharper end of the stick are users like you and me when troubleshooting.

I've seen how channels and videos have progressed over the years, and it has been amazing to see the progress in general, but the last year or two, I've been running into more and more so unrealistic personal lab scenarios, that... IDK, I have a feeling that most of this stuff is fake... or I really have no idea where they get the funds for the equipment they say they have in the videos.

Like I was watching this video about growing human neurons ๐Ÿคจ... like WTF, is that a thing now? I mean, I go in the store, buy a bunch of neurons and off I am to growing them? What are they, sea monkeys ๐Ÿคจ. Next, the equipment. One light microscopes and another UV based, not the cheapest ones on the market I might add. Those two easily add up to over 150K. I mean... really, where do people even buy those, it's not something an idividual owns.

I've seen this with other channels as well, like the restoration chanels. A big ass 3D printer, an expensive lathe, all sorts of high precision milling equipment, laser cutters... I mean... where do these people get the money to buy these things, these are not cheap, sure, they're not as expensive as a microscope, but they're still pretty darn expensive, we're still talking about at least 10s of thousands of dollars.

Am I missing something? Cuz I watch these clips and I feel more and more like a looser, like why don't I have that, how much money do these people actually make from YT ๐Ÿคจ.

Tap twice on Home to reset the feed (lemmy.rollenspiel.monster)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

I like that 0.0.41 finally fixed the Home button thing (it brought you back to the beginning of the feed... kinda annoying), but now, I have no way to reset the feed, other than scrolling back to start, lol ๐Ÿ˜‚.

I suggest double tap on Home to reset the feed... or maybe long tap to bring you to the start of the feed (not reset, just bring you to start) and double tap to bring you to top (start) AND reset the feed.

Spell checking just doesn't work... as far as I could tell, in all of the apps for Lemmy (at least the 3 or 4 others that I tried apart from Jerboa) and I have no idea why this is.

I have Gboard set up to underline and suggest corrections, not actually auto-correct, because English is not my natibe language and I use Latin (mostly) for my native language as well, so it doesn't auto-correct the words when I communicate locally.

Tried SwiftKey, but it doesn't have any options regarding spellchecking, it just has auto correct, suggestions and that's it... so it doesn't actually suite my needs.

Why do people call it DM? (lemmy.rollenspiel.monster)

I mean... I come from the forum scene and they were always called PMs, as in Private Message. What in the hell does DM stand for and when did things change from people calling them PMs to DMs.
