I had one in .world until it got buggy and then I moved to sh.itjust.works and don’t plan to move again unless something similar happens. I hadn’t sunk much into the other account anyway so it was no big deal

This is a low ball but I easily have 3000+ hours in FFXIV and Old School Runescape (not combined)
I am a massive Final Fantasy fanboy so, my totally unbiased opinion, it is a masterpiece. The story made me cry like 6 times. It’s excellent story telling. The game play is engaging. Not terribly challenging but it could be for folks less familiar with action games. There are ways to decrease the difficulty on a few different axis by equipping certain accessories. The side quests can be a little fetchy but I think even the worst ones add some depth to the world. There’s plenty of optional bosses too. It’s my personal game of the year although Tears of the Kingdom is probably more deserving overall for more broad appeal and polish.
There are two versions of Runescape - old school and RuneScape 3. RS3 is the older of the two. It’s been the natural continuation of the game with a controversial overhaul of the combat system to make it more traditionally mmo adjacent. Old school started in 2013 from a back up copy of the game pre-2007 when the change occurred. Jagex now runs both simultaneously. Old school is the game you would remember if you played back in the day. It’s bigger than ever. At any given time there are well over 100k folks playing. Regular new content and updates. It’s amazing.
I’ll probably start with FF1 and go from there. I’ve played them all before in other versions so I might as well go in order.
I took a break from Zelda to play Final Fantasy 16, went back and I finished TOTK as well. Taking a break from Switch for a bit to play my group Ironman account on old school RuneScape some more. Then I’ll probably start to work through the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters.
Can make some cabbage steaks outta that!
Looks so much better now! I love it
Fuck you and congratulations!
True! Out of those I’d recommend 7 or 10 for your very first. 6, 7, 10 are probably most generally regarded as the best. I personally like all of them and you can’t go wrong tbh
I really love Spirit Island. It has a ton of expansions and there are a lot of additional rules to add difficulty and complexity to your liking. It’s also great to play with others too. A 10/10 game for me. It’s basically the opposite of Risk. People are trying to colonize you island. You play as a spirit of the island (river, volcano, storms, ocean, etc) and instill enough fear/kill them to get them to leave.
I’ve done some Google searches and looked at Reddit results, and I view some choice subreddits on an RSS feed. But I have not logged in to Reddit since Apollo went down. Lemmy still seems to be getting better every day. While the content drought is still there I have taken to reading a book at night before bed instead. I’m hoping that just becomes a long lasting habit in lieu of scrolling.
Go on Reddit and take screenshots of your list of followed subs. Get an RSS feed app (I like Inoreader). Follow all of your subs that you’d like on there. You’ll be able to see everything including comments but you won’t be able to up/downvote, comment, or create your own posts. I imagine you not being logged in, not seeing ads, and not interacting or contributing content hurts them. Meanwhile, continue interacting on Lemmy as much as you can and tell people you know about it.
They’ve been working on redoing and slimming down some of the base game to cut some of the fat. You’re not wrong about the structure. The story itself especially in the expansions 3/4 of them could stand on proud amongst the best of final fantasy stories. MMOs aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, though, I get it.
