This update is focused on implementing even more user requested features. If anyone has any other features they want to see feel free to suggest them.

Changelog

  • Added a screen that shows more details about a post/comment including the upvote percentage.
  • Added settings to change the color of gesture actions.
  • Added settings to enable post/comment upvote percentages. There are two separate settings, one for comments and one for posts.
  • Added setting to indicate posts/comments created by the current user. This will be on by default
  • Added community list for each instance. This screen is accessible through the instance info screen.
  • Added option to manually save a draft from the create/edit post/comment screen.
  • Added setting to enable/disable automatic drafts. This is enabled by default.
  • Fixed a bug where sharing an image will share the link even if "share image directly" is enabled.
  • Fixed a crash when using the app with Lemmy v0.19.

v1.17.1 Changelog

  • Fixed a bug in the compose comment/post screen where restoring a draft, leaving the app and then returning back to the app will sometimes cause the app to overwrite the content with the contents of the draft.
  • Fixed a bug where the progress bar in certain places did not respect the current theme selected.
  • Fixed a bug where admin tools will not be shown even though the current user is an admin and admin actions can be taken.
  • Fixed a rare crash.
  • Improved the community list screen a little. Also added a menu to view the community info directly from the community list screen.
  • When commenting on a post, the "reply to" field will now also include the title of the post. This makes it easier when replying to posts where the title is important. Eg. a "ask lemmy" post.
  • Improved some animations in the community info screen.

Update

I'm releasing v1.17.1 as a fast follow up release to address some bugs and polish some parts of the app.

I really appreciate the constant updates for Summit! It's my preferred Lemmy client, as it looks very nice and runs incredibly smoothly (a lot of the apps I've tried suffer from a lot of stuttering whenever scrolling through posts).

By any chance, are Instance Admin tools planned? I can see the Admin options for my instance's main community, but I can't see them for posts/comments that don't originate from my instance.

I will need some clarification here. So the post/comment is made by someone who is on another instance but the content is posted on a community on your instance. Is that correct?

Ah my apologies I should've clarified a bit. For example, if I'm on [email protected] then I can see the Admin tools on both comments and posts, since that is a community on my instance (and I am an admin on my instance). But say, for this post (along with my comment and yours) I don't get the Admin tools option.

Or if even I myself make a post / comment that is outside of my instance, I also cannot see the Admin tools there either.

I see. I can take a look later today.

Should be fixed in v1.17.1 (latest version). Let me know if it's fixed or if it's still broken.

Looks to be working perfectly now, thank you so much!

As always, thanks so, so much for Summit. It's a wonderful app. I keep saying this on every update, but I truly think it's the best way to browse Lemmy at the moment.

I have two bugs to report:

Bug report: if I'm writing a message and my screen turns off, on resume the keyboard will override the chat box. Video showing the bug.

Bug report: If I'm writing a message retrieved from the drafts and add some extra text, and I swap to another app, when I go back to Summit the message reverts to the one retrieved from the draft and the extra text is lost. Video showing the bug.

Thank you for reporting these. Will take a look sometime today.

I have a fix for the second but I am not able to reproduce the first bug. I'll try with a few other devices. If you have any special settings turn on, let me know.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That was fast. Thanks a lot.

I tried looking into it, both into my Summit settings and GBoard settings, but I didn't find anything out of the ordinary. But it's not too important, so don't worry too much about it. Thanks a lot for the other fix :)

I can try downloading some 3rd party keyboards and see if that causes the bug but so far no luck reproducing on 4 different test devices.

Thank you very much!

If a user links to an image in the comments, it always opens it in the browser. It would be good if it can be opened internally like other images.

Done. This will be added in the next update.

Neat! Thanks for considering this ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Hmm how do i find the instance info screen 😅

[–] ZebraGoose 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ah found it! Under community info there is a button "Instance info" 😄

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yep! That button was also added this update. Prior to this update you had to actually go to the instance feed in order to access the community info screen.
