I swear by Red Brick espresso from Square Mile.

Of late I've become a North Star drinker, great coffee from a Leeds based roaster. Easy to pop into when I visit the Royal Armouries.

I've heard of him from others. I got the Red brick recommendation from someone who keeps up with the coffee side of social media.

North Star are pretty amazing to be fair, as a Leeds lad myself. In Leeds we have a lesser known coffee shop called Kapow, they have some great blends (the Etheopian blend is intense).

Union Coffee, using the house blend at the moment.

Fellow Union enjoyer here.

But I buy my coffee pre-ground, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

heathen pre-ground drinker! What's putting you off buying a hand grinder?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Procrastination. A hand grinder is exactly what I want in my workflow, but couldn’t yet be arsed to work out which one I want 😅

I have been pretty happy with my TIMEMORE Chestnut C3 PRO, seems a decent enough choice for about £75

What about them stands out for you?

Like any taste, it is hard to put into words but it has the right amount of bitterness & smells great.
I make a lot of latte & this one is good for that IMO. As I said, hard to put into words.

Been buying from Rave for a couple of years, I get their Discovery subscription. It’s always excellent

I used to use Redber, but Rave made way more sense financially and their roast consistency had less dud beans than Redber. That said, some of Redber's offerings were really nice. The Rave packaging is a great bonus.

I'm using coffee link at the moment, it's really good for the price nothing to special in terms of quality though. I usually order two 500g bags for around 22 quid which lasts a good month

I ordered an anaerobic coffee there the other day though and it was not great, not a fan of that type of coffee. Don't know if it was just that particular bag but the smell of the anaerobic coffee is not the one (the taste was actually fine)

Solar Bean coffee. Ethically sourced coffee roasted via solar power! Home compostable packaging to!

Their Rwanda Gitwe 630 is amazing.

For the decaf drinkers, decadentdecaf is excellent.

I use https://www.andbloss.com/ as they are local to me.

https://www.microroastery.co.uk/ are pretty good based in Canterbury.

Everyone I know who has used Horsham has rated them but never ordered from them myself.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Horsham is my go to. Really nice coffee, with a good range. Should've probably put that in the main post.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

yeah if it wasn't for trying to shop local I probably would have tried them by now
