Aqara Devices' ZigBee Keeps Dropping. Any Tips? (lemmy.ml)

I have an Aqara water leak sensor in my kitchen and weather sensor in my living room. I added them to the ZigBee network while they were in their permanent locations - heard that should help them stay connected. For some reason they keep becoming "unavailable" in Homeassistant. I've readded them four times now.

I have other ZigBee devices from other brands and haven't had any issues with them dropping. My ZigBee dongle is a Sonoff. I've never connected the Aqara devices to any Aqara app, and was also wondering if these get firmware updates. Any ideas why these two Aqara devices keep dropping?

Is your Sonoff dongle plugged directly into your HA server? I found that adding a short extension cable usually cleared up interference.

For what it's worth, I have a sky connect dongle and the Aqara water sensors. Haven't had an issue.

It is plugged directly into my HA server. I'll try adding an extension cable, since i haven't tried that yet. But if it's a matter of reception, it seems odd that it's isolated to the Aqara devices.

@guttermonk @comradegreetingcard bought an Aeotec Range Extender Zi | Zigbee Repeater - fixed the problem of range of xiaomi/aqara sensors for me
