My least favorite is from 2000 To 2010, and my favorite is 2011 to 2021. There is nothing About specific cars, I just do not like how Most of the cars look In that Period.

Most favourite: 2000 to 2005. Everything was light, efficient, responsive, fuel-injected and had unobtrusive safety features. The electronics were minimal, with only what was absolutely necessary.

Least favourite: Right now. Every day we stray further from the driveable cars we once had. Why the fuck would I want my car to connect to the internet?!

the visual style of the 2000s was kind of hit-or-miss sometimes, but the greatest cars come from there.

plus you had choice with what head unit you wanted to use. my dad's starlet didn't even come with a radio originally.

I'm a sucker for anything around 1985-1995. That sort of intermediate era where the square-bodies of the 70s were still hanging around but the under-hood technology was finally getting to be not shit. The overall market was super competitive so a bunch of manufacturers were trying zany interesting designs that led to a ton of variety, birthing such things as the rx7/miata, fiero, crx, etc...

Toyota’s MR2 and Supra are icons of this era. Basic, reliable fuel injection and electric ignition is easy to keep running.

god I'd kill to have an MR2. Not in any place to be buying extra projects though

my #1 dream car is the 1st gen MR2. everything about it is just perfect (except for the typical toyotas being weak-winded).

but i'd also settle for a 3rd gen as a daily.

the 2nd gen didn't really resonate that much with me, despite it literally being the best one.

I'd say the 2010's or so. The garbage tech from the 70's 80's was finally completely gone. Manufacturing quality seemed to find it's stride with better materials, insulation and finishing even on a budget. Screens also weren't as ubiquitous so interiors were practical and will age well. We got the GTR, some amazing GT3's, Mustangs were better than they ever did, the LaFerrari/918/p1 trio jumpstarted an entirely new category and feel free to add cause I'm probably missing a bunch.

These were great changes from the 90's where the tech was impressive but early CAD designs suck to work and fix. The 00's brought terrible styling on top of that while still being low tech.

Difficult to generalize but when speaking about the types of cars I'm mostly into which is modern luxury sedans and trucks I'd say they peaked somewhere between 2005 and 2015 and excluding few exceptions it's only been downhill from there. For some reason so many modern cars have absolutely hideous looking tail lights especially and don't get me even started on with those unibrow lightbars.

I'd probably say my least favorite years were 2000 to now. Everything is just so soulless. First everyone was trying to copy the crown Vic now everyone is trying to be a gient white brick SUV. My favorite years were 1950 to 1957 that's when cars were fashionable but not too overly fancy. Yea they got gallons to the mile but hey at least they always gave you something to look at. Both inside and out. Being able to fit yourself inside the engine bay without taking anything apart makes them a brease to work on and modify. I just can't stop loving these cars and especially my 56 bel air. Tis but a beautiful work of art. Sure they aren't fast or efficient but man that just ain't the reason you drive a antique. You drive a antique because you just enjoy turning renches and marveling at the beauty you put together.

Nothing in particular, I just find I don't like most '86 and newer vehicles. Design, sound, drive, etc.

[–] guylacaptivite 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah but why 85. You must have a specific model in mind or something to be this precise. And, not to be confronting or anything, but what do you like about how these cars drive?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'd imagine he picked 85 because it's the middlest year of the 80s. Hes probably trying to stay he likes the early half of the 80s and hates the later half of the 80s.
