I’m just wondering what the best app to access Lemmy World is. I have apple, but I’m sure there’s plenty of android users thinking the same thing. I only ask because there appears to be countless access apps on apple. Which one should I go with?

I use Voyager on iOS. Feels almost exactly like Apollo which was a great client for Reddit.

Apollo was what I used too. Thanks, I’ll go with this.

iOS user here on lemmy.world - I mainly use Memmy. But because all the apps are still pretty young, I also use Mlem and Liftoff (e.g. right now Memmy errors when I try to post, so I do my posting in Mlem). So far, it seems the most analogous to Apollo, which I had really enjoyed. Btw login issues are weird, like right now I can login on Chrome but not Firefox (mobile, that is: desktop Firefox, my daily driver, is fine)

Edit: just tried Voyager because of this thread and it rocks, may replace Memmy as my main

Boost for Lemmy

Sync for lemmy on Android. Happy to see the developer head over to Lemmy after Reddit fucked them

Yep it's so clean.

I use https://wefwef.app on iOS. Lightweight and reminds me of Apollo

Wefwef is now called Voyager in the App Store. It’s what I use. Just like Apollo.

Oh nice still available as a web app. Are there push notifications with the web app?

I’m happy with the native app bc it doesn’t collect any data.

I tried memmy for iOS but its telling me my password is invalid when I try to log in

Are you entering http:// before the instance name? Because I suddenly got issues logging in while using that a couple of weeks ago. Turns out you are just supposed to write lemmy.world without http.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

yeah this worked, instance had to be "lemmy.world"

I had issues too but turns out I needed to login with my username and not my email. Works fine for me now.

Yeah, I saw that one. Not very reassuring lol.

My first lemmy app on iOS was memmy. That's the one I use the most and like it quite much. Now I also have voyager and avelon installed, but I've barely used those.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Okay, thanks for the input. I’ll check out memmy too.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

If you are on android, would recommend Boost

Absolutely blast of an app,

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Just downloaded Boost for use on my galaxy note device. It's delightful so far!

I can't recommend anything for iOS, but I used Boost for Reddit and after the API shenanigans this past summer the app developer began working on Boost for Lemmy. It can be found in the Google Play Store, the author is Rubén Mayayo.
