Mostly due to Valves aggressive pricing. Take that out of the mix and Steam Deck falls down the list, but obviously pricing is one of the biggest factors.
I'm more interested in the Legion GO purely because of the removable controllers.
I like to set my Switch on the tablet stand on my stationary bike and use the joycons detached so I don't have to hold my hands up awkwardly.
I don't know, I'd just bring another controller.
Right, for people who likes 55% of sRGB color...
Upcoming OLED one will be fine, but if you actually played any of the newer ones and still say old steam deck is the best, you are lying to yourself. I mean where are my colors? Last time I used such a bad screen it was nexus 4.

Better value, or better overall design? I can see the value argument, but if you don't mind paying more, I can see why someone would think that this Legion Go is better. In what ways do you think the Steam Deck is better, and in what ways would the Legion Go be better if it were more like the Steam Deck?
Better performances per watt, better battery life, better screen now with the OLED, better software (the big thing). There's no reason someone should buy another PC-handheld.

Steam Deck is much bigger than I expected. Legion Go relative to it is huge and must be unwieldy.

Lol, guess you forgot about gpd, ayaneo, onex... they paved the road. Valve pulled an Apple move after they paved the road.
That also discounts the work Valve did on SteamOS and Linux, to make it an actual viable gaming option. The other systems still just used Windows.
I have one. It’s good. Reading in game text pretty easy. The thing is heavy but I play it laying down or on a table. The 2 USB40Gbps ports are exciting. Not to egpu but for external storage with a right angle adapter and a >500MBps flash drive. Faster and more cost effective than fast microsd cards. Can be a bit janky
A lot of times games start in the background and I have to 3 finger swipe up to change windows. Sometimes after it goes to sleep and waking it up, the display stays black. So a series of hitting the power button until you get display. Also waking up from sleep and Steam Big Picture being unresponsive until you close reopen Steam. The Lenovo quick settings menu, annoying when input isn’t solely captured by it so you’re moving the overlay panel and the background
Overall it’s fine though once you’re in game. I game 99% off games purchased off Steam so I’ll probably install Linux on it for a more streamlined handheld experience along with a lightweight desktop. Install Waydroid. Prefer that over WSA. It’s stronger than my laptop. It’s worthy of being a dev machine too

Nope, progress is really good. It's already at what I'd consider a "usable" state.
My mom's computer skills were bad, and in decline because of her cognitive decline, and I switched her from Windows to Ubuntu around 6 years ago because it was actually easier for her to use, even back then, and it's improved since then.

I generally think it's a good sign when something is heavy relative to its size.
I just saw a different review of this and it definitely looks very good.

Double CPU, GPU and resolution almost 2 years later, ofc it will be better.

I am curious about why this form factor is so much more popular than mini laptop like GPD Win Max 2
It has a smaller footprint making it easier to carry. The fact that it is a fully enclosed laptop means, you don't need a carrying case. You aren't going to accidentally snag a joystick and break it off while it is in your bag without a case.
You also have a normal keyboard and mouse which lets you use it a standard laptop. Windows UI is build around the use of keyboard and mouse and this provides it.
I assume this form factor is more ergonomic to hold in the hand.
As someone who has a Win Max 2, yeah it's not very comfortable to hold for very long.
I don't know why it's more popular than a laptop. You can get one with similar APU and use KB+M or a BT controller. Plus you get, you know, a usable laptop in the deal.
Because a handheld you can play anywhere? If you're laying on your couch/in bed or on the toilet, have fun trying to use your laptop.
I've had fun with my laptop though?
One thing that is neat is that the main body slims down right next to the controllers, allowing for a better grip.
The hardware is awesome, but the software feels like it's still an Alpha version... Legion is so far behind the competition -- Valve, Asus, and even smaller players like Ayaneo and GPD Win, have vastly superior software experiences.
