Give competitors' recommendations only where appropriate. If a user asks for Intel only (i.e. i5-12600k vs i5-13400?) recommendations, do not reply with non-Intel recommendations. Commenting on a build pic saying they should have gone AMD/Nvidia is also inappropriate, don't be rude. Let people enjoy things.

CPU Cooling problems: Just like 95C is normal for Ryzen, 100C is normal for Intel CPUs in many workloads. If you're worried about CPU temperatures, please look at reviews for the laptop or CPU cooler you're using.
Why would OP want to downgrade to that trash?
14700k! In the i7 range there is a difference in the generations, not in i5 and i9. With the new Intel ipo software feature for 14th gen, definitely go with it, no excuses.
sell that amd cpu so someone else gets to "find out". and get yourself the latest i7
Microcenter has 7800x3d bundle for $499 same price range as Intel bundles your looking at and it’s not on the tail end of the socket. Go am5 so he has an upgrade path plus it’s the best gaming processor on the market right now.
Bro no one want's that AMD garbo.
Did you just call a 7800x3d garbage lmao
It would be better to upgrade to a better CPU on same mobo. AMD released new 550 and 5700 x3d cpus also with high 3d v cache which is good in gaming.
If you really want to go Intel, go 14700 with MSI board. Stable and good build of mobo and one of best warranty services.
14700k
For your son, 14700k. For a nephew, 13700k. :-D
Why not just a 5800X3D into his existing mobo?
Good idea. Less money to spend but ddr4. So half bandwidth
and also reuse the motherboard no?
good question, the mobo is a b350 and starting to cause some issues. so, going to start from scratch with whichever platform/combo i go with.
As long as $50 doesn’t mean going without something else, 14700k easy
For gaming go AMD.
Correction: If you are broke and don't care about raw performance, go AMDolt.
14700k has 8 core + 8ht + 12 e corr. It’s a beast. And for 400 euro vat included. Performance is 5% less of an amd 7950x ornin par. And you can oc it. Take a good z690mb with 2 ddr5 6000mhz and you are ready also to upgrade in the future to the 14900 even if the difference will be minimal. Bye
14700K all day long.
14700kf
As a 14900k owner myself - I can't help but to recommend a 7800x3d and calling it a day, if it's for a kid that literally is just wants play video games.
13600k and extra money for games
14700k
Always get the newer option especially if it’s supposed to last a few years. Ignore the it runs hot crap and just make sure it gets adequate aio and psu.
I always recommend purchasing a new CPU for a new PC. These are just assumptions, and there is a small chance that Intel has quietly addressed a security issue in the latest generations, similar to what happened with the 8th and 9th generations, and it could impact performance. Additionally, the new generation has more cache and cores. For me, the 14700K is definitely better.
My 13700k is more power hungry than most 3rd world dictators
IMO it's worth the $50. It may not be a significant performance increase, but it is better.
To me it's better for resale/longevity. There's lots of people out there with a bigger number more better mentality.
That's only a question that you can answer. With 14700K you get 4 more e-cores than the 13700K. Is $50 for 4 more e-cores worth it to you? What would you spend the money on if it weren't being spent on e-cores? Do you value 4 e-cores more than that?
