They should just do optional drivers again, but always release recommended driver monthly as usual or with new game release if adding optimizations that are stable.
Optional = beta features
Recommended = stable without beta features.
Honestly tho back in 2022 they only did optional drivers for months and released game optimizations only with less stable drivers, which changed now its only recommended and preview drivers, with AFMF driver still being updated but not thru radeon software.
Go to guru3d forums, they talk about the driver changes like crazy.
That's because it IS crazy.... if you want to use your GPU do it, instead of fiddling with drivers, if you have a problem its probably not going to be fixed by someone mix and matching driver binaries into a mess.
Same with OCing... I don't do it on machines I want to just work, I keep drivers stock and upgrade them periodically and don't really have issues.
Also, don't leave your PC with updates partially installed reboot if it needs to because you end up in update limbo with whatever it was upgrading being broken untill you reboot.

Hmm gaming laptop... has AMD IGP and dGPU... I install one driver and it just works. No, Intel mixed with AMD or Nvidia nonsense, or AMD mixed with Nvidia.
At work the graphics are all done in blender... and the HIP acceleration is 100% adequate for what we use it for.
Sure there are cases still where you have to use CUDA but they are rapidly fading.
The drivers "improvements" for SD did sweet fa on my setup - I suspect it was tweaks for higher level ai and just PR Bullshit (I benchmarked before and after updating the drivers)

Nobody should be using the DirectML version though...
The Onnx system is just a hacked way of working with SD as far as my trials with it have shown, with frequent errors and the hassle of converting models and 'will this work or not' . Directml has been very stable for me, I've honestly had enough of errors and fault finding.
I come from a tech background of writing code back to the 80's - even writing vba for excel is easier than dealing with this hassle. Just my opinion though of course.

Yeah cause its intended for semi non programmer office workers. It has almost none of the features you need in a production quality programming language though.
DirectML is pretty much doomed because nobody is going to run that on a server.

I've only had the update installed for the day, but I think, and hope, it includes the major fixes from the release branch. I have a 6800xt and was getting the very annoying video playback randomly freezing my entire system bug with the previous preview release. Since updating to the November 9th release, everything has been smooth so far.
I'm on the Latest Nov 9th preview driver, upgraded from the Oct 17th preview driver, to be honest I have not noticed a difference, both drivers have been stable and without issue for me.
