I don't have music videos, but if I did, I'd add them to my jellyfin

I use KODI as a music video player.

I manually fill XML .nfo files with the information for each music video. Then I have KODI rescan the music video directory and the new ones are added to the library.

It might sound like a lot of manual work but it only takes a few seconds per song. Considering you say you listen to the same songs a lot, it might not be a problem for you.

VLC lol, though I rarely actually play them.

I do download music videos I like though, they have a tendency to disappear.

Yeah I just have a Plex collection and rip things off youtube with "youtube-dl-material"

Is there an archive of all jag9war rips from VIVA and the likes?

YouTube premium is probs your best bet. Never heard of anyone publishing music videos.

Plex is the only solution I know of. There's some documentation out there where people have gotten fancy with their music videos in Plex and how it's organized.

I’m with a lot of other ppl here in this thread. I tried self-hosting music and yeah, music discovery was obsolete and that alone drove me back to Spotify. I self-host 80% of my daily driving services but music is 1 thing I just don’t want to self-host. CarPlay integrations of FOSS makes it hard to make the jump to begin with.

Though this really doesn’t help OP but this is just my take on it.

I don't host music videos, but if I did I'd just put them on my Plex/Jellyfin server. Both services deliver video of any codec to any device reliably, which can't be said for all self-hosted apps. I also quite like both Navidrome and Plexamp and don't see a good reason to switch. If I had a huge music video library that needed organization by artist and genre, then maybe I'd try Ampache. It looks a bit basic, but does offer support for music videos alongside your main music library.

Jellyfin

I keep music videos! I use jellyfin, content type: Music Videos. Works really well and I've also discovered that if you're listening to an audio file that has the music video available, it shows a suggestion below the playlist

I dont care about those. Dont watch them dont use them dont collect them. Might watch it once every blue moon on youtube with revanced

I get music videos from YouTube and host them on Plex. If you are looking to receive new content on the regular, you could leverage yt-dlp on a Linux machine to download new content from your favorite YT channels such as Vevo.
