the judge [that first condemned the driver], Krzysztof Rawo, emphasised that, after the dehumanisation of social groups, “it is only a small step to violence”. He pointed to the examples of 1930s Germany, the Balkans in the 1990s, and Russia’s recent propaganda against Ukrainians.

Poland and Hungary should be beaten up one way or another. They aren't democracys anymore, they are assholes and disrespect human rights, Hungary sucks China, Russia and Turkey dick, Poland is constantly blaming everything bad in the world on Germany and demanding more and more money as "reparations" and many more very bad things.

@endomorph We're trying but the government is ass, the opposition is weak, and people in countryside are brainwashed by public TV. I honestly lost faith in democracy in this country.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know it's not your fault! Honestly, I find myself losing faith as well. Democracy is in danger all across Europe; ours is starting to get cracks too, and lots of citizens are voting for the fucks that are actively trying to undermine everything that's common sense and important for a peaceful future. But your country/government, sadly, seems to be in the lead for the race to fascism in the EU. I can but hope that the people will wake up before it's too late and violence'll ravage all that is precious!

Does that mean that I can go now in Poland and stick nazi slogans on my van? "Remove all impure people from our country. They are the reason behind all crime!" That's great.

Not sure if they want to open this can of worms. I wonder if the suing group can overturn this result as well.

This feels so "Italian" btw, it makes me feel "at home". Indeed, catholic countries look all the same. Racism and homophobia are considered "common sense" and openly supported by institutions.
