I know it's all just nothing PR statement but how can anyone at Utd say in public, with a straight face, that any part of the club is making "Good progress?"
Oh I guess actually they reported record Revenue so GGMU all is well

This club's management gave Ole a new deal in late July 2021, gave this quote:
“The results of that have become increasingly visible over the past two seasons and we are all looking forward to seeing this exciting team develop further in the years ahead."
And then (deservedly) sacked him 4 months later. What they say mean fuck all. Not that I think Ten Hag should be sacked.
This is their run of games from December to mid-January. I don't see him surviving.
Everton (a)
Galatasaray (a)
lose this and they're pretty much out of CL.
Newcastle (a)
Chelsea
Bournemouth
Bayern
Liverpool (a)
West Ham (a)
Villa
Forest
Spurs (a)
United at Anfield is going to be such an entertaining game for non-united fans
They played Spurs in London already
Man that Anfield trip can't come any sooner.
The ~~dreaded~~ vote of confidence.
I mean by the sounds of it Arnold's out the door himself, so I'm not sure what difference this makes.
this is actually a variation wherein the person offering the vote of confidence is doing so in part to deflect attention from his own failures. not backing ten hag would look like admitting a mistake, which is something arnold can’t afford to do if he wants any chance of retaining the job once ratcliffe comes in (he’s likely to lose it anyway, though).
I’m not saying the story is wrong, but if Luckhirst told me the sky was blue, I’d be going outside to check first, and still be very sceptical if he was right.
It’s an easy story to write by a journalist who is nowhere near credible nowadays….
Not to mention, the club powerbroker mentioned in this title is likely out of a job by the end of the year.
Not really sure his position with anyone currently in situ matters...
It's Ratcliff who will make the call when the deal is ratified, and Ten Hag has shown absolutely nothing to get himself kept on.
Finishing top 4 last season despite always looking like a bang average team probably hasn’t helped them.
The executives are fucking clueless about football and obviously didn’t see they were nowhere near competitive last season and this season is just reverting to the mean after over performing last season. But they just see numbers on the page and think “well done boys, good process”.
Getting lucky with Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham having rank seasons shouldn’t have convinced them that Man United were suddenly an okay football team.
Old trafford is falling down
Ten haag is a fcking clown
Glazers staying ten more years
Man city are on the beers
This is why the people in higher positions need replacing and should've never been given the roles though hold. "Good progress" the guy is taking the p*ss.
My heart sank when I saw Sam Luckhurst. I was expecting an exposé about how the lads call him baldy and make him eat lunch alone in the corner 😂
Excellent 😈
Good news for the rest of the league
The fact that rival fans want him to stay says everything
its pretty clear old mate is fishing for an exit and a payout. He seems to have stopped giving a shit.
Lmao
Anyone actually surprised he's being backed through an injury crisis after doing a very good job last year hasn't a single clue
What's also even more stupid is that all this talk follows a game lost against City. Like, okay it hurts more because of the rivalry, but it also happens to be one of the best teams in Europe, if not the best team, and they've just completed a treble.
There's no shame in losing against them, I don't see why there would be more fuss after this game than after a game lost against a mid-tier club for example.
I feel like I'm losing my mind. Ten Hag has a much better winning percentage at United than Mourinho or Solskjær. Obviously, this season has been a disappointment, but look at their injury situation. What manager could fix that?
The result could hardly be different against city. It is the manner of the loss that's frustrating.
It's ten hag giving up on his principles to play a midfielder like mctominay. He would never have played him at ajax
It's the fact that there is no progress in buildup. We have no patterns of play in midfield. Our buildup is mostly just hoofing it long.
We haven't improved in movement, possession, getting the ball to our wingers in isolation, building through the middle .
There is no improvement. That's what's making us quit on the manager. There is no style or brand of football. The tactics are changing every game. Mctominay scores two fluke goals and ten hag plays him the next game.
Mount was on a good run of games. Gets benched for the next 3. Why.??
We're playing vibes and inshallah football. The results hardly matter. I just wanna see us play some football.
Oh he ded.
Power broker sounds like the next big Marcel villain…
Richard Arnold will be gone with Sir Jim comes in, so a vote of confidence from him is pretty much worthless. Hopefully, De Zerbi or Xabi Alonso can be tempted to take the job in the summer because Ten Hag ain't the guy for this job.
You mean Xabi Alonso, the Liverpool midfield legend?
If Ten Hag isn't the man, what on earth makes you think he is lol?
Potter got one of these about 48 hours before he was sacked
Do managers get 8 year contracts?
Right so two weeksish then before the sacking announcement?
The Power Broker aka Sharon Carter
Man Utd should take the club legend route if ETH gets the sack.
Carrick and van Nistlerooy are decent options.
Rooney might be available soon as well, given the start he's had at Birmingham.
"Well done boys good ~~process~~ progress"
Is this the same process they use on greenwood? Make sense
We have made no progress in 10 years.
I don't think United is making good progress. I think they're making incredible progress.
"good progress" to mediocrity
I’m not ETH out or even thinking of it, but who the fuck we going to get to replace him anyway. It’s all doom and gloom on United today which I expected before the game, so all these stories are just lazy writing to get clicks
I'm trying to understand why everyone's having a meltdown over a 0-3 loss to City of all teams. I understand it's a big derby, but it's not like they lost 0-6 to Sheffield Utd. Any outcome besides an away win for City would honestly be a surprise considering how they've been playing.
If ETH was safe before, he's safe now. People who want him gone have a very myopic view of football, or haven't been paying attention to Man Utd the past decade. Fire ETH and then bring who? Conte? Potter? Zidane (who has already said he's not interested)? Fucking Carrick from Middlesbrough?
Whomever they bring after ETH I guarantee you they'll have a run of success, then next season week in week out will underperform, eventually they'll be sacked too, then bring another guy that's available and the cycle continues.
Man Utd is probably the only Big team in the world where any of its successes since 2006 has been in spite of its corporate structure rather than thanks to it. Of course, a lot of the blame falls of Ten Hag, he calls the shots after all, BUT the overall situation of the team atm falls 100% on the Owners who have left the club unsupported for years, and gave the reigns to clueless people that have no idea how the business works.
How?
