I would love to see more information or even a sneak peek of what the graphics update will look like. I remember them bringing it up as something look forward to around 7.0

Oh yeah, I'd like to see an update on this. The first time it just kind of seemed like basic lighting changes but texture revamps would be awesome.
They did put out "high poly" face models once but it just looked like nothing changed but smoother curves.
I went and looked up what other fanfests were like (source is on reddit 🙁, sorry).
If history repeats, we should get:
- The expansion name
- A short teaser trailer
- Basic announcements about content with no details
- Where are we going or some important people. Basic surface-level plot points. Maybe a bit of relevant lore
- Screenshots
- A few big system announcements (e.g., SB had the introduction of Eureka, an inventory expansion, and the end of PS3 support, ShB introduced Ishgardian Restoration, New Game+, World Visit)
- Yoshi-P wears a shirt that teases something about the expansion (e.g., HW had Batman = Dark Knight, SB had Scarlet Witch = Red Mage, ShB had Bugs Bunny = Viera)
We might also get some details on 6.5.
I'm waiting for the tease of Yoshi-p's shirt, that's always fun to speculate what it could mean, then the follow up shirts in the live letters between other fan fests. I know it's unlikely, but I'd like to see something on female rothgar.
I know female Hrothgar is something they've mentioned before as at least "eventually" tier. So I think it's definitely possible for 7.0.
Yeah, 7.0 for that seems likely. It's a bummer they've said no more "new" races in general, but at least getting the Hrothgar gender parity would be cool.
What new jobs are we getting?
I doubt they'll do a full reveal this early but that would be cool! We know we're getting a caster this time around, it would be cool to know what the other role is. Maybe a ranged physical? We got tank/ranged physical in ShB and we only have 3 ranged physical.. so maybe that one makes sense.
Caster makes sense. And true, a ranged physical would round things out! Will be interesting to see, that’s for sure! I think it would be cool if we got a physical healer or a melee range magic user. Always wished bards were more bard-y and that we had a heavy armor healer (like a DnD cleric). Guess it would be hard for them to implement a pure support class though and I know Yoshi-P really wants classes to be readily identifiable by their gear. That said, tanks in bikinis don’t really fit that bill so I feel like that’s not even a valid argument anymore.
I'd like to hear about a long-term plan. I've heard things such as level 100 will be the final level cap. I've heard about potentially making 7.0 a "second start point" to make the game more accessible to future players as the story continues to grow. I want to know if they're going to continue adding 2 jobs per expansion because it seems like at this point continuing that level of growth will be too much.
I'm hoping we get some confirmation around the future of the game. It's an old game. Talking pure craziness here, maybe it makes sense for 7.0 to be FFXIV's final expansion, but they have a way to export your character into FFXVII or something like that.
I dunno! But I hope to hear more about the distant future.
You basically phrased my uncertainty better than I could. Really hoping the dev team is able to address these aspects of longevity, particularly concerning story length. FF14 has an amazing story, but at this point asking a new player to invest hundreds of hours into it just to catch up is a huge ask, no matter how good it is.
I don't think they're giving up on 14 after just this expansion, though, given that they are also adding graphical improvements. Seems like a weird addition to make if the intent was to make it end-of-life in the near future.
I think at the release of 6.0 they said they were planning for at least another 10 years of content.
I would be amazed if they could milk the same formula for another 10 years

I'm hoping for a few more details regarding the lighting update and QoL changes. They said they're working on implementing features from popular 3rd-party add-ons, and I know thousands of console players would absolutely go nuts with hype if they announce that they're even considering implementing chat bubbles.
Ugh yeah chat bubbles feel like they'd be so trivial to implement and they really do help with immersion.
Hoping for a rerun of SoKen's masterful rendition of Lahee (orchestrion roll when). And the Twinning meme dance.
But seriously, I'm just excited for them to vibe with the community again, whatever they have in store.
Mostly just the first expansion details. Maybe a hint at what the next job will be. Would love to see info about female Hroth, but it might be too early for that. We'll have to see!
Just show us the female Hrothgar, dammit.
An announcement that there will be another round of ticket sales...
I'd really like to see character creator expanded. Things like:
- separate horns from faces for au ra and add customisation options similar to the demonic flavor from the concept art
- more tail customisations for miqote
- more detailed sliders for things like facial features, instead of just the radio button options we have now
- color wheel for more diverse hair, skin, and eye colors
- butt sliders
