How to find moderators for a community? (lemmy.world)

How do people go about finding moderators they trust for a community? I could find someone who posts a lot and then ask them in a private message, but maybe there is some other way. Do people mainly mod people they know personally? I kind of want to find someone who is in a completely different time zone so they would be awake when I am asleep.

@[email protected] made a good comment here. You should make a public post in your community where you need moderators. Try to specify that you need people from a different time zone that yours.
