Mushrooms are a favorite of mine to add. Just made a beef tips and gravy over rice and tried throwing some mushrooms in and it made a world of difference.

I realy like fish sauce, easy to add and no one notices that it is there.

Fill a small bowl with fish sauce, add a big pinch of sugar, a lightly squeezed lime wedge, chopped garlic and chopped chilis (Thai works best but any will do). Mix and you have yourself a perfect Nam Pla to add to southeast Asian dishes.

Parmesan cheese rind. Add it to any sauce or soup. Just gotta fish it out like a bay leaf when it’s done.

I add soy sauce to pretty much everything, it might be a bit of an issue as soon I will have to start buying it by the liter.
