Ok, no. This headline distorts the facts significantly. My understanding from reading it is that Starbucks is threatening to take away the employer provided healthcare for everyone, not that it will take away the trans affirming parts of the healthcare. While I absolutely do not side with Starbucks in this situation, let's not misrepresent the facts. This is a worker's rights issue, not an LGBT one.

Lmao yeah what a fucking lie. That's like seeing a team get laid off and saying "X company is firing gay workers" because there was one gay employee in the team.
Fuck this deception
they are threatening to take away all healthcare, yes, including trans healthcare. there's even some quotes from trans employees who claim their managers specifically threatened their healthcare coverage because they were trans. I agree that it's obviously a workers' rights issue, but it's an issue that has an outsized effect on a marginalized group of workers, specifically trans people. and it's a particular slap in the face since they're threatening to take away their "progressive" health care policy for trans employees in order to keep them from unionizing. it's a disgusting tactic to divide the workforce by using healthcare as blackmail. fuck Howard Schultz and fuck Starbucks
