I want it to be attached to the rest of the door on a hinge with a spring, so that when you open it, it snaps back into its normal position once there's clearance.
That would be sweet as hell.
Yea, no, look the door is fine - love the door...but...I'd really like a sharp corner on the ceiling where I could bust my head open. Every time. Like literally every time; maybe by the door handle?

Me too. It adds way more charm than just a bunk door with a weird angle cut out.
The missing trim ruins it imho.
This goes from being a chop job to a deliberate design choice. Lends legitimacy

I think I'd prefer the truncated door alone.

Honestly the biggest issue i have with this is that they put the handle on the wrong side. Opening that will be a huge pain in the ass.
I don't think it'd be able to open the other way bc of the ceiling.
