Probably the easiest way to run it is with Vinegar, a Wine wrapper for Roblox. You can just install it from Flathub (or Discover on Steam Deck in Desktop Mode), make a configuration file in terminal to set it to Vulkan and then you're good to go after that:

mkdir -p ~/.var/app/io.github.vinegarhq.Vinegar/config/vinegar/ && { echo "[player]"; echo "dxvk = false"; echo "renderer = \"Vulkan\""; } >> ~/.var/app/io.github.vinegarhq.Vinegar/config/vinegar/config.toml

I know there's a launcher called Grapejuice that's very popular for running the game as well, but I don't know if there are any additional steps needed to get it to work.

I can't wait to not play it !

Same. I know it matters to a lot of younger players though, my son's game requirements to consider getting a steam deck are beamNG and Roblox support.

Make sure your kid’s safe on there. I know that sounds an awful lot like pearl clutching, but besides the general dangers of children being online Roblox is exceptionally exploitative of anyone creating content on the site(where have we all heard that before?)

I dread the day my kid discovers it. Managed to make windows not a thing at home, was hoping this bollocks is never coming back to linux.

Every game supporting the SD is a good news, I was just fucking around ;)

I appreciate gaming on linux taking the command I made to preconfigure Vinegar from my reddit post without so much as linking it.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

After the recent news that Roblox was playable in Wine again with their special Beta channels, it seems they've now enabled Roblox to run in Wine on the stable version making it really easy to get Roblox on Linux.

There's been no announcement that I can find yet, but testing it myself today after lots of reports came in — yup, Roblox is now working just fine without a Beta.

Roblox is easily one of the biggest platform for games around, so it's good to see it working so easily on Linux now.

Is this what having a Steam Deck is like? 🤨

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago

Nha. The Roblox dev team made a major fuckup.

Games work very well, and the ones that don't are few and present issues on other platforms too.

I mean, if you're on the fringe of wanting to play things that are almost incompatible with the system, sure?

I don't really touch Epic, Ubisoft or EA. They don't really offer anything I'd deem fun. I played COD, I like CS and TF2 more. Lucky me. Roblox also looks like my definition of "jank", and it's never interested me. We have Gmod and Minecraft. All good here for janky fun.

I do have one tiny hole in my gaming portfolio on deck. Stalker: GAMMA. The only real viable method of installing it would be to install Call of Pripyat, then copy my GAMMA install from my PC's Windows partition. Doable, I'm just lazy and I've got more than enough to enjoy as-is.

But the zone will call me back soon enough, blin.

Checkout protondb.com search for anything. Chances are just about any game you might want to play will run on the Steam Deck. Games that outright don't work are few and far between. The exception is competitive games with invasive (often kernel-level) anti-cheat measures.
