Oh we definitely had coolant, but it would corrode your hands and cause extremely dry, cracked skin every winter, for the rest of your life, even though the MSDS said it was completely safe.

And that kids is why I wear gloves when removing parts, LOL sums up coolant in a nutshell, unless you work at some fancy medical manufacturing shop.

I wore thin rubber gloves, but the shavings would cut them to shreds in no time. So I tried wearing thick rubber gloves, but they made it difficult to operate the calipers and micrometers. I should have just dealt with the difficulty and worked slower, but when you're on piece work, and you're young, you make stupid decisions... or at least I did.
