From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

This is an article from 2020 and I'm fairly sure it didn't happen.

Yellow Turban Linux coming soon?

If only Russia would follow suit. I've noticed they've had a problem with their Windows crashing.

There might be a bug in our lemmy app (memmy) because this post is stuck on the top of my feed, I also thought it was recent…

I'm seeing a lot of old posts too, regardless of if I'm using memmy, mlem or wefwef

It's pretty ironic that a country known for oppressing people's freedom to take advantage of an OS famous for spreading freedom. I suddenly feel like I built guns for serial killers.
