Epstein related news is always hard to read but these paragraphs really aren't sitting well with me.

Monday’s settlement stems from claims filed last year by an unnamed woman, using the pseudonym Jane Doe, that the bank knowingly benefited from and facilitated Epstein’s sex trafficking operation. The woman, who alleges she was raped and trafficked, sued on behalf of a “large number” of other victims of that operation.

“We all now understand that Epstein’s behavior was monstrous, and we believe this settlement is in the best interest of all parties, especially the survivors, who suffered unimaginable abuse at the hands of this man,” JPMorgan said in a separate statement Monday morning.

The first paragraph says JPMorgan "knowingly benefited from and facilitated Epstein’s sex trafficking operation."

But the next paragraph says “We all now understand that Epstein’s behavior was monstrous,"

So my main question is who exactly are the people who just found out that benefiting from sex trafficking others/minors is monstrous? and what on earth took them so long?

Very good question. They mention that the former CEO was epstein's "friend" - maybe it was him, and someone found out? I really have no idea but yeah it's really gross that these companies are involved, there had to be feigned ignorance for so long.

Nice to know when you have enough money you can just pay a fine instead of going to jail. /s

How do you throw a corporation in jail?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You freeze its assets for X years.

That’s the easy one. I’m not opposed to throwing high level managers that were aware in jail. I get the whole LLC thing but fuck it. If I knew someone was diddling kids at my work you know forsure I’m reporting their ass then the companies ass if they don’t do anything.

Damn. Over 40 victims tied to this class-action suit.

Yeah, it's pretty gross that JP Morgan was involved in this. Hopefully this brings some comfort to the victims.
