i set up a mastodon server for me and my only friend a year ago. 5 days ago it stopped working (that's fine, as I try to have no more than one 9 of uptime). i decided now was a good time to update the server, finally. so now i need to do a year of updates...fml...

well maybe tomorrow. server is still not working by the way :-*

See, this is where you just extend the measurement time period for your uptime 9's rating. You can have 87 hours of downtime and still achieve 4 9's if you just measure over a century. If you break your SLA, just extend it to a millennium.

I believe in you!

Edit: didn't notice this was a week ago, sorting is interesting in my instance.

Haha thank you. Life has gotten in the way so no progress yet. Maybe next week....

after about 2 weeks of downtime, it's back. i ended up doing an upgrade to the latest version straight instead of following the long recommended path. it seems to have worked. i think the mastodon-sidekiq service had just stalled and restarting that would have fixed everything anyway
