American trully lead in water quality

So, question: my cousin had a leaking pipe under his house and they ran one of those pipe lines things through it to fix it. Why can't we run pipe liner through the lead pipes to at least reduce the exposure? And even if there's some reason it couldn't be done on some of the lines, surely it could be done on others?

there are many economical and technical issues,

for starters, they don't care if you or your children are exposed to toxic chemicals in the drinking water.

also, it'll cost money (an insignificant fraction of the cost of the damages) but damages are free, so they don't care.

Especially with republicans fighting it every step of the way.

Chicago is known as a democrat stronghold. The republicans don't have power to fight anything there.

The federal government could attempt to do so.

It would take decades because they don’t care, not because it actually takes decades. Meanwhile the government doesn’t mind them living there, getting lead poisoning.
