I don’t think we need parenting specific weekly threads or anything. But people can post things as they’re relevant to them. I’ll admit that I only check my subscribed communities every week or so, I’m not always the best for responding/posting. I wish the fediverse was better in general for pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and etc. but it’s just too small and male-driven. Reddit was super helpful to me during that period of my life, but I wouldn’t go there for advice anymore.
WomensStuff
Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.
Rules…
- Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
- Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
- Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
- No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend [email protected] for that, but here is an escape from it.
- New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.
Yep parents don't post parent related stuff here. My theory is it's because there aren't parenting posts, so they think this isn't the right place for it. I'd love parents to have a voice here though!
As soon as I find the time? 😉
Haha of course
What qualifies a person as a parent? Is it just someone or somemany who have biological/adopted children or those that look after children but who aren't legal guardians etc and don't do it all the time as they share responsibilities with others?
We ask because we do look after a child, but not often for various reasons.
That's a really good question. I'd say anyone that classes themselves as in a parent role... parenting's not about biology, it's about actions
Thank you!
