RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on [email protected]

  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

Have you discovered a new instance? Did you experience a rift in community shifts? Did nothing change for you at all?

Personally, this event gave me a newfound appreciation for the admims of our various Fediverse servers. Thanks for all your hard work, guys.

I'm on jlai.lu now, I usually browse by all instances but this may be an opportunity to contribute more locally & in my native language.

I'm on Piefed now, had this alt account soon after Piefed appeared on the map but decided nows a good time to switch.

I like it a lot so far, but not being able to use Thunder as my mobile app does sting - the devs said they'll support it in the future.

Definitely shoutout to all the admins volunteering to host and manage these servers, send them a few dollars if you could.

The day Thunder supports Piefed, I'm instantly switching over. Hopefully soon ™️

I made an alt account on PieFed too, I just wish I could use it with Jerboa.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago (2 children)

What do you use? I'm on interstellar

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

not the OP, using Interstealler on a piefed alt jist now, I use Boost on Lemmy, with a slr.pnk account.

interstellar glitches a lot for me as well as having used and liked from Boost long ago in my Reddit days.

For now I'm just visiting piefed.social through my web browser, since Interstellar doesn't have all the features I want.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I get that. What features doesn't it have?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I find that I'm not really able to customize the interface as much. I'm trying to make it look similar to Jerboa's compact interface, which I'm used to.

Who knows, maybe I'll adjust to it sooner or later.

Nice one thanks for sharing!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

Yep I'm finding it a bit fiddly but I'm awful with tech, hoping i adjust to it

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

I used jerboa too, but interstellar seem aight so far, and seems like the devs are open to implementing features users are asking for

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I moved to lemmy.zip. So far it's been an equivalent experience.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

I did the same and my experience has also been the same.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

Switched to europe.pub and piefed.social. Looking forward to seeing piefed being more supported by mobile app such as Mlem (already announced) and voyager.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

Everything is the same. Everything is fine. There is nothing to worry about.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago

I went back to my alt on Lemmy.one then they just announced they are shutting down too, so I started a Lemmy.today account. Seems fine so far.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I made a piefed account but interstellar doesn't have all the features I want currently so I'll check it out again soon, chillin here for now.

Yeh. Lemm.ee was my first. Only a short time so I hadn’t really tried anything else. Moved to PieFed. Kinda like it.

Easy to scroll
Pictures. It has a few more filtering options.

Thanks to the Lemm.ee team good luck on your next passion and professional endeavours.

I moved to dbzer0 and have noticed basically no difference. That's one of the things that makes the fediverse so great

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'll probably go piefed or mastodon then delete my account here on my cake day. Or i won't do anything at all. I simply don't know.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Why delete? The instance will go down anyway.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Unus Annus

Jkjk. It's so that the deletes can get federated. Once .ee goes offline, nothing else can be federated

I made a sh.itjust.works a while ago as a backup and just made a piefed.social recently, I will probably keep the sh.it as just a backup and keep using piefed
