Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend [email protected] for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

I've been thinking about getting some nail polish since my job involves a lot of typing and I always seem to do better about not breaking my nails if they're painted. And I want something different, and I was looking at ILNP's chromatic polishes, and I'm wondering... has anybody tried them? Or, anything else like that, with a fun gimmick?

I didn't want my first post here to be something stereotypically femme but eff it. It's on my mind.

Slightly off topic but about the breaking nails: my nails recently had been pure shit, splitting even when they were cut to the quick, super thin, just total garbage. Anyway I was desperate so I decided to try vitamins. I got vitamin D, calcium, and a skin/hair/nails combo. It took like a couple weeks tops before I started seeing a significant difference. They were so strong that they got really long (for me) and I had to cut them which is really saying something. I had been worried that I wouldn’t see results until the nail had grown out from the cuticle, but it seems the nail absorbs the nutrients via the nail bed or something. So yeah, vitamins!

I take a ton of vitamins and also fish oil and stuff, it's just my job. I have a real hands-intensive job. Add to that I'm clumsy, and it's a nightmare!

Thanks for adding this, though. I really should've said something as a PSA.

I can totally relate to being clumsy! Sometimes the odds are just stacked against you (or in this case, your nails)!

I love ILNP's chromatic polishes. They hold up very well, I'm a guy and I don't type but I do lots of things that trash nail polish and ILNP has become my favorite.

Hey 1D10, thanks so much for your comment! We're a trans inclusive women only community, so please don't comment again if you're not in that group 🥰

I absolutely love ILNP, you can't go wrong with them. The only thing I'd change is that I wish their brushes had a rounded tip, but that's a nitpick.

All of my polishes from them are glittery, and I didn't realize until I went to look at them to answer your question lol

I liked them enough to buy one more time, and now I'm kind of waiting until I have a dedicated "vanity" space so I can keep them organized

Thanks for this! Just knowing you went back was the kind of thing I was looking for!

I'm afraid I don't have any helpful comment here, just felt like chiming in to see if anyone knows of a nail polish brand that's PFAS-free.

I personally use 786 cosmetics which I think is PFAS free? I'm not 100% sure about that but they're vegan and water permeable and a bunch of other things so I think they should be?

Sounds like, though that's definitely something they could advertise if they were.

Edit: looks like they claim to be "non-toxic and 21 free" but don't specify which 21 things they are free of. XD

They do have a list of the 21 things somewhere on their website, but I'm not sure if any of them include PFAS chemicals lol.

Edit: Realized I didn't actually say where the list was which isn't very helpful haha. (It's on the "our standards" page)

Nope, no poly- or per-flouroalkyl substances on their "free from" list. =/
