From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

On discord using fedora linux, when screensharing, it works, but my cursor doesn't show(so it shows the screen, but not cursor), does anyone else have the same problem as me? and if you know, how can i solve it?

I use Vesktop. It works there for me at least.

Generally Discord is weird with streaming, especially on Wayland.

Is there a difference when sharing the whole screen versus sharing only a single window?

You could use a virtual camera like the one included in OBS to share your screen with the cursor showing, but that probably won't share desktop audio by default.

no, there is no difference, but i noticed that when i fullscreen the stream, my cursor shows, but when i go out it disappears, it seems to disappear into nothing.

Some screenshare software has a setting you need to toggle to then have the mouse show. I would look into your screen share settings and check for a toggle like that,

i don't think discord has a setting for that though.

If it doesn't you might have to use a 3rd party screen share tool. Or try some sort of work around, such as such as by using discord screen share to share the screen recording of another screen share application that does show your mouse cursor.

Why do you need the cursor shown?

What a stupid question. To show users where to click. Helpfull to help explain a program or anything else.

Ok, relax, it was just a question.

Yeah idk why I am mad. I explained it first and then edited and added how stupid this is... planned to relax today as life gave me too many lemons
