What did you think? I’m blown away.
Say Nothing (about the Troubles in Northern Ireland)
I really enjoyed it. As an Irish person, I was concerned that it glorified terrorism in a way, but I think by the time it concludes, it's pretty balanced, if not all accurate. There has to be some allowance for artistic licence.
I think it's particularly poignant in the view of the current genocide in Gaza. Is Israel going to be surprised when they are subject to terrorism for decades even if some kind of peace is realised.
I think Say Nothing does well to show the heartbreak for those that lost family of the perpetrators get away with it. However, of they are to be held to account, it is in their interest to not reveal their story of what happened. It makes these sealed interviews seem like a good idea for historical purposes at least.
Maxine peake is great in this and pretty much everything she does.
It's on Disney+ where I am
Lioness. I'd heard good things and it has not disappointed. I'm currently about halfway through season 2.
I’ll be watching the first two episodes of Murderbot tonight.
Came here to comment the same. Watched the first one today and love it.
When the trailer came out it caught my attention, so I read the book. Great book, very short read however. Then I red the second, third and fourth book. Currently reading the fifth. I think I like this story 😄
Just finished season 4 of The Wire. They really turned up the depressing nature of the story with this season, damn
God I love the wire. I'm jealous of people that haven't watched it because they get to watch it for the first time. Have you seen Treme? It's on my list it's another David Simon show
Saw the first two episodes of Barry on a flight. The comedy felt a bit forced. It has great reviews and I would like to watch more episodes — I just don't feel an urgency to do so.
Also watching The Righteous Gemstones S2. S1 was great. S2 seems to have a lot of filler to come around to some overarching plot that's yet to be revealed.
Well I had time to kill and continued with Barry.
.. I ended up completing season 2. I'm hooked.
MobLand has been consistently good.
