trump is just following putins playbook.
Putin has follow through. Trump doesn't. Trump got pushback on the ludicrous things he was saying and backed off and is probably soon going to say it was a joke.
Well duh. What he means is:
- Greenland yes, as it's a largely undefended territory except for american forces already there. And let's face it, it's still uncertain what Europe and most of NATO would do in response, apart from strong-worded letters of condemnation. Which has precisely 0 effect on a sociopath like Trump.
- As for Canada not yet, because it can defend itself. Maybe after a bit of slow Russia-style political destabilization in order to weaken it, then they attack.
The art of the coward. Nothing short of a swift kick to the 'nads will stop a savage and animalistic neanderthal. They can't be reasoned with, and while it's a sad reality, it's still a reality.
NATO would have to defend Greenland.

For the record, Canadians do not hate Americans en masse. but I admit there are a couple dozen individuals that are on the shitlist.
As an American I would never join the us military, but I would absolutely join the Canadian armed forces to fight against US imperialism into Canada.

Does that mean that an attack on Greenland is highly likely? And what does he even hope to achieve?
Even if he manages to military conquer it, the local population would revolt, the rest of the sane world will boycott them and even maybe put some sanctions on them and the next president, hopefully more sane person will most likely return it back.
