Turns out option 3 (reopening as normal) has been flooded with awards the last couple of days but despite what reddit claims these protests have been without a doubt community backed.

The ability to downvote makes it hard exactly to gauge the total numbers, but what's crystal clear is that no-one wanted to open like normal.
