More than three in five Canadians see Liberal Leader Mark Carney as the best person to negotiate with U.S. President Donald Trump, a new public opinion poll suggests.

The survey, commissioned by The Globe and Mail and La Presse and conducted by Nanos Research, says 62 per cent of respondents think Mr. Carney would do the best job in talks with Mr. Trump, with only 24 per cent choosing Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre.

I can't imagine Maga Milhouse dealing with Trump.

I imagine PP's tactic would be to align himself with Smith to give away Canada's resources and assets to the Americans while scorning our allies, trade partners, and citizens.

That is without a doubt on the conservatives' plan.

All his bluster and rhetoric before Trump 2.0 was not so easily forgotten by many 😉

Yup. In an effort to be spared from the Eye's gaze, smöl ~pp~ would be a sycophantic sellout cum Gollum.

24 per cent is still WAY too high.

From my perspective* it's lower than the baseline 1/3rd of humans being awful though. Even some of that crowd went against their grain.

I like to think that there's a slice of that awful third with enough awareness to know that even if they like what Trump is doing in theory, he is definitely not on team Canada.

I don't know how many there are, but I know one real life example. Not sure if it's of any interest to elaborate because he doesn't seem...typical. I think he's very interesting in a morbid way.

Pierre acts like an economic genius but he's just a fucking loser with a bachelor's degree in international relations that took him 11 years to complete and held no real job prior.

Plus he:

  • Voted against a trade deal with Ukraine during their war with Russia

  • Said he wants to use the notwithstanding clause overriding YOUR RIGHTS

  • Pushed anti vaccine bullshit

  • Would allow his mps to vote for anti abortion legislation

  • Supported the illegal convoy blockades

  • Called childcare and dental care a waste of money

  • Made a speech to a group that claims residential schools effects on the first Nations people's were "a myth"

  • Made it harder for Canadians to vote

  • Was against CERB which allowed millions to pay their bills during COVID

https://pierresrecord.ca/

He's also a fucking loser who has fed millions of Canadians bullshit and misinformation about what has been causing inflation and has hurt our recovery from COVID because of it.

Pierre acts like an economic genius

Does he, though?

The two stages of negotiating with Trump:

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago

One guy actively stands firm against the bully, the other sticks to him like goldfish poop.

Doesn't take a genius to know which of the two will fight the bully, but apparently 24% of Canadians don't.

Media is hammering them hard. My wife's family can't stop talking about stage makeup and how Justin did 'nothing' during the pandemic.
