Man Trey just can’t catch a break. He looked pretty slick in the Broncos game, I hope he sees more time on the field this season.

Was excited to see Trey get another chance but maybe time to get excited for Darnold’s chance…he has worked hard and is equally deserving. Had never heard of him but he’s a great QB

Sam is a local USC guy so it’s cool to see him get the chance down at Levi, but I want to see more of Trey. Feels like history repeating itself with the Smith/Kaep dilemma where we suddenly have too many QBs and STILL NO OL TO STOP SACKS

I’m cautiously optimistic about every QB we have but more concerned they’ll get killed before releasing a throw

Agreed…it’s pretty heartbreaking. Personally nothing can top watching Brock Purdy’s dad watch him become the 49ers QB…as a father that was indescribably moving…but I have a gnawing feeling we missed out on watching something special happen with Lance getting a full season as a starter to develop. The thought that we may never see that is sad, even though I want to see Brock continue…

Man I feel bad for Lance, he really hasn't gotten a shot. Either injured, or stuck behind BCB. But I refuse to believe he's worse than Darnold, so I feel like they must be looking into a trade. Sucks that we gave up so much for him, but at least the team is stacked so it hasn't hurt us nearly as badly as it should have. Anyway, rooting for Lance wherever he ends up, he seems like a good dude.

There's been rumors that there were trade talks between the Vikings and niners before the draft, so we could see talks maybe pick up again. Cousins is in the last year of his deal and Trey could have this year to sit behind him, but who knows. Definitely thought he was looking good this preseason.

This is crazy. I thought that it was still between Purdy and Lance to START…sad for Trey that he is not even the first backup. Not that I disagree with the assessment but I still feel disappointed he was robbed of a full rookie season last year to make mistakes and grow…seems like his chances to start as a 49er are gone now. At the same time I do feel excited for Darnold who does seem to be getting a second chance of sorts and looking really great! Trey might have to get traded to get playing time… Going to just leave out the possibility of injuries.
