Earlier versions of the Micro Journal had small LCD displays, but the Micro Journal Rev.7 uses a LilyGo T5 ePaper display with an ESP32-S3 drive board. The screen is a 4.7 inch, 960 x 540 pixel greyscale display with low power consumption… and a low screen refresh rate.

A 4.7" seems way too small even for a portable word processor. A 7" or 8" would be much more comfortable.

I have no use for a device like this, but I really appreciate the design and attention to detail. It's so cool to see people rejecting cynacism and making cool shit!

Looks like you could achieve something very similar by just buying a Bluetooth keyboard and using your phone, that you anyway have with you, as screen.

Or for the full Eink experience, you get an Android Reader like Boox and install an editor.

But I already have both these things, so I would then not have an excuse to buy another thing!
