It's very simple. Stuff they like is legal, and stuff they don't like is illegal. That's all there is to it. Not rocket science.

Riddle me this: what even is an “illegal boycott”? A boycott is, by definition, a grassroots consumer movement. So what, you’re gonna arrest the people who started calling for it in the first place (that will simply amp up the boycott)? You’re going to threaten and arrest people who buy alternative products (that clearly is not workable, and will simply amp up the boycott)? You’re gonna punish people who aren’t buying your product (super dumb, same reason)? Are you going to gasp incentivize people to buy them (it’s dumb, but I see this as the most likely possibility: orangeboi declares a 100% tax subsidy for buying teslas)?

For Twitter/X Elon is suing the advertisers who pulled out. No idea how it will work with Tesla.

It will not work. That's just Trumps and Elon's wet dream.

With this Supreme Court they will rule in the Elongated Muskrat’s favor and make not paying oligarchs money against the law

You forget that his advertisers are also rich people that do everything to get their will

Soon not buying recurringly from big corporations will be seen as illegal.

America is an oligarchy. The oligarchs own the big businesses. A boycott against a business is literally anti-american activity...

The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel has already been ruled as illegal (typically on the grounds of antisemitism) for nearly a decade now.

And sadly, the answer to what the government will do does indeed seem to be threatening and arresting those in support of the boycott.

Doesn't the USA have laws against boycotting Israel specifically?

  • No it does not
  • Again: explain how that would even work

“Boycott Hasbro because my potato doesn’t use pronouns anymore.”

They chose the only possible wrong reason to boycott hasbro. There are so many things that they have done that mean if I can I don't buy from them but they chose the one meaningless thing that they have done.
