If you use a single mesh wifi device along with the ISP router does it still create 1 network throughout the house and utilize seamless switching?

From what I have seen, people replace existing router with a mesh node and use a second node in deadzone. I want keep using the ISP router and do a wired backhaul to a single node in a deadzone. This will cover my space.

In my previous post, people suggested an AP device but I can get a mesh node cheaper here for some reason. Any help is appreciated.
