Ritual “cannibalism” is still in practice today. Some South American tribes will burn their revered dead and mix the ashes with the communal food, so the dead member would continue to live and empower the tribe.

Agreed. Most western cultures will pump the fluids out of their dead and replace it with chemicals that keep them from decomposing. Which is also gross and creepy.

Maybe there’s no good way to dispose of a body.
