That's likely your device allowing the youtube appto intercept youtube.com links. Not sure what device you're on but on mine if I long press a youtube link and hit Open in New Tab, it behaves
Like the other commenter already said, this has nothing to do with Lemmy. Try opening the link in incognito mode, this should prevent your phone form opening it in the YT app. If you never want to open YT links in the YT app, you can also disable it generally. Go to Settings > Apps > YouTube > Set as default and turn off "Open supported links" (This is for Android devices).
