The idea that a crown corp that benefits everyone in Canada but is NOT funded by our tax dollars makes no fucking sense to me at all.

Clearly you don't own a significant amount of stock in FedEx.
Tbh even if I could, I wouldn't.
I wonder how much the average Canadian's taxes would need to increase to fund Canada Post until it breaks even. I feel like that could find a place in the federal budget fairly easily.
The feds could fund it easily if they started forcing rich people to pay their fucking taxes, especially since the CRA hasn't even gone through the Panama Papers leak to chase down all those scummy twats.
It is not CRA's job to harass job creators π€‘
I'd like to see Canada post go to weekly deliveries. If you need it outside your alloted day, you must go pickup.
Instant savings for them from drastic decrease in th amount of deliveries
Delivery twice or thrice a week would probably save so much already.
Thatβs one way to turn people off from using Canada Post, while the competition offers 7-days/week deliveries, even some doing late night/early morning deliveries with some Amazon couriers.
Good point, I didn't think of that. I had only letters in mind.
What the hell do they mean "shaky financial future"? Canada Post is a public service. Do roads have a "shaky financial future" as well? We really need to get past this capitalist delusion that government services should somehow make money when they're there to serve the public.
I've been wondering this past week if Canada Post could take advantage of this angst against America that we are all feeling, and start an all Canadian Amazon competitor. I mean Canada Post would for sure find a way to fuck this up, but they've already got the shipping network on lock. Start a marketplace.
