I bought a portable air con from Appliances Online. Rare delivery fail - didn't get notified until the guys actually rocked up to deliver. First time this has happened to me.
Mega dramas hooking it up to the outside to vent (we all gotta vent from time to time). At the moment it's held in place by repurposed cardboard and the magic of duct tape, which will do until it rains. If it continues to do well over the next few days, then will invest in a proper window fitment.
Unit works well - has shrunk the temp in my bedroom from 30 plus to 23 over 1 hour. Methinks this was money well spent.
Will be keeping an eye on the power bill, but my last one was $45, so I think I can splurge a bit on personal comfort.
Definitely worth shelling out to not boil in this horrid heat. You'd have spent so many decades the "hard way" with wet towels and ice cubes and what not. I'd only experienced that in my childhood overseas and that was enough for me.
Cooling is worth the cost if possible.
Portable air cons are a god send.
Out for a walk and brunch before the weather gets too hot. Now home for washing and relaxing.

I feel like I'm missing something fundamental in my life and I don't know what. Perhaps it's boredom and sense of fulfilment, because there is so much I can do with ice on my face for most of the day. I'm trying not to see the future as scary, but as something with hopefully some sort of excitement.
I think it's normal to see the future as a bit scary. It's the unknown.
Edit: Maybe that's one of the most exciting things about being alive. You don't know what's around the corner.

I've been to body pump, had a walk, done two loads of washing, and made a frittata. I will be on the couch until further notice.
I wanna go back to body pump, but have gotten so unfit that it scares me. But I also know how good it feels when it hits right!

The Melbaby got a day to decompress and then we went to the usual vet yesterdayโฆ her blood pressure kept climbing from stress so the next thing is a home visit. Hopefully thatโs easier on her so we can get an accurate read and do something.
Iโm told that her eyes seemed ok or at least the things told to me seem better than the emergency doctor presented them. And sheโs eating. Avoiding obstacles. But Iโm still noticing some vision problems. I had to move a shifted water bowl back into position in front of her and audibly tap the edge. Iโm not seeing her usual quick curious glance.

Housing
Iโve been told of another housing option but the organisation has a bad reputation. From my observations of the local place โrunโ by them itโs well deserved. And reviews mention them not addressing prolonged violent antisocial behaviour against other tenants - which is what Iโm trying to avoid.
I donโt know that I trust them. Iโm not trying to uproot my whole life only to end up in the same situation or worse.

Iโm struggling with how hard and unforgiving and never ending life feels and really struggling to function in a basic capacity. Wishing I had the guts to end it. Been feeling that way for a long time.
Melbcat is my rock and my anchor. Iโm not going to be able to handle it when she passes especially having to make that decision. So I think that is going to be a really high risk time for me.

2nd season pokemon intro song sucks compared to season 1.
Another year, another 'Rod run' car show down here where people show off they're stupidly exxy hot rods. Some of them are absolutely bonkers. Sounds like they're hooning at the start of the bellarine highway but in reality they're probably the most careful drivers on the road heh. Definitely worth a look if you're into that sort of thing. I'm not but it's impressive how much coin and time they put in. I wonder how many of them have aircon cause tm will be brutal if they don't.
It never ceases to amaze me how good a game Ghost of Tsushima is.
The landscaping and details of flowers and leaves is quite amazing at times.
