As someone too young to really have used dialup this is really cool! Curious if 4800 bps was fast at the time?

4800 bits/s was fast when it came out in the 1980's, but it was quickly obsolete. I remember getting a 28.8 kbit/s modem in the mid-90's and thinking it was hot stuff.

Hell bud, we got it up to 56 kb per second. Internet porn was mainly pictures at that time.
