Goes to show you. The rainbow flags and shit all these corps uses to adorn themselves with every June was just to get more of your money. None of it was sincere. Except maybe Costco.

I was a bit contradictory to the hatred towards the rainbow logos on websites during pride month. I'm an ally myself and not a member but like, I've worked at companies and I know that there were employees that are gay that were really excited about showing these logos for that time.

That being said, after all this news of companies dropping DEI and going full mask off. I think I understand fully understand now. Urgh.

To be fair, that was always the case. They wouldn't have been wasting millions of dollars to promote these events if they weren't profiting on the back end. That's just business. And right now, the anti-DEI sentiment is growing louder nationwide. Not saying I agree with it, just acknowledging the reality of it. Conservatives have already made an example out of Target specifically for their support of DEI initiatives, and the anti-DEI movement in this country is growing rapidly as MAGA continues taking their victory lap. Between the previous boycotts of companies like Target and Budweiser, the growing anti-DEA sentiment, and the costs of having to deal with the morons that come in and cause a scene, it's not a surprise that more and more companies are deciding that it's just not worth the hassle.

And you also have to remember: It's not the CEOs and upper management that have to deal with the fallout. They don't have to directly deal with the MAGA moron who comes in, swears up a storm, causes a scene, threatens people, etc. It's Jenny, the 16 year old cashier. It's Timmy, the 19 year old stock boy who's working part time. Its Jim, the front end supervisor who's all of 20 years old himself and is getting paid a whopping 15 cents an hour extra to deal with their sorry asses. They are the ones who (sometimes literally) end up being the ones taking it on the chin and having to pay for the decisions of corporate executives hundreds of miles away who probably haven't actually set foot in one of their own stores in months. Given some of the threats made against some of these people, I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of the reason was to protect the physical safety of their rank-and-file employees who are neither empowered nor equipped to do anything about it, but are the ones often targeted for retaliation.

Actually, the best thing to do right now while president felon is in charge is to shop less period. Let's remove as much income as we can from these companies who don't pay their fair share of taxes and employee wages & benefits.

Any idea why they didn't call musk in the title by his name?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wouldn't be surprised if they're avoiding repercussions from the thin skinned cry baby, he seems to go after anyone that upsets him. Funny this sentence is accurate for both Musk and Trump.

It's the same for all narcissists. They don't give a shit about anyone else, so they take everything directly and personally.
