I just thought this was such a ridiculous take by a man who was one of the most respected referees of his time.

It cheapens the respect that referees are afforded when you equate their integrity on the pitch with sporting administrators mismanaging a union for personal gain.

Wayne Barnes with the shittest take in England here. Clubs and players are livid. £1.1m is an embarassment, especially with the quality of product on display at HQ

Lame, Barnes. Refs are part of labor, side by side with players for love of the game, capable of managing the game because players respect them. Players do not respect refs because a rich CEO tells them to.

Barnes on the other hand exposes himself as a bootlicker to the elite.
