Overturn all marriage. Why should a religious union give anyone any rights?

The government should recognise all partnerships simply as ‘civil unions’, not marriages. Regardless of genders. Marriage is a religious rite and as such should not be part of government lexicon. If you want to be married, fine, do it in your church, but the government should only see the practical arrangement as a civil union for taxation purposes with no further interest in the genders involved .

At least that’s how it’s done in my country.

Lawmakers on the House State Affairs Committee, including both Democrats, unanimously voted to introduce it.

Reps. Todd Achilles (D-Boise) and Brooke Green (D-Boise) said they supported the resolution's introduction in the hopes that >Republicans would support introducing their legislation in the future — a strategy that's had mixed results over the past several >years.
