I feel for AP, he was a Raider through and through. But he was in over his head and dealt a bad hand. I think as a whole, for Raider Nation, we certainly don't part on bad terms. Wish him luck wherever he ends up.

Hello there, fellow Raiders fans on lemmy π I completely agree. I was torn between wanting him to get some more time for the sake of some hope of stability (and the oldschool swagger) and not being able to get over how little improvement he showed on stuff that is definitely on him, despite all the experience they brought on-board from ex-HCs (was their advice this bad or did AP flatout ignore it?).
TDL raised some interesting points and potential candidates. I have no idea where we are headed but it's definitely wild to see Gruden's name come up again in this discussion.
Alright! More to the party lol. Yeah, I'm not sure what was up with all his advisors either. I thought they would help, but they seemed like more of a hindrance actually, especially going off of AP saying he should have went with his gut more.
I can't believe Gruden is coming up again either. I don't think they would go with him but who knows lol
Agreed. Ay looks like there's 2 raider fans on Lemmy lol. I wouldn't have minded another year out of AP, but his game management was severely lacking. Punting in enemy territory, weird timeout and clock management. Starting Minschew over Aidan, the list goes on. I definitely liked him as a person. Not so much as a coach.
You're the only other one I've met! I think Lemmy's a bit too techie for your average football fanπ Yeah I echo everything you said. My theory for why they let AP do the presser is they were keeping him if nobody better was available. I think they heard back from one of the top coaching candidates (maybe Vrabel or Coen, if we're going with connections to Brady) that they were interested in coming here. So AP got the axe.
Another Raider fan here. Love AP. I wouldn't have blamed the Raiders if they waved off the current season as inevitable with the roster. Buy I didn't see a high ceiling with him.
