I do live somewhere they're practical and still can't justify the cost. I've bought cars for less money than they want for those things!
I'd love a bakfiets, but I settled for a cheap long-tail from Lectric instead.
If it makes you feel any better my daily driver is an old Trek 820 single track converted to a poor man's touring bike lol
