Not quite sure what's up with this review as I enjoyed the game a lot myself back in the day...

@[email protected] There seems to have been a lot of "it's on 8-bit so it's shit" flying around at the time.

It gets really frustrating seeing the switch to a new generation result in reviewers trash anything last gen, or even complete genres that they believe to be last gen.

Shoot em ups come to mind as the 32-bit series started and then 2D fighters as we got to the Dreamcast era...

@OutofPrintArchive I never played the NES port, but I saw Bad Dudes vs DragonNinja in an arcade. Like the then-ubiquitous "Winners Don't Do Drugs" screens, the briefing on President Ronnie was something I was expecting to be parodied far more by now.

@[email protected] I used to read a lot of webcomics. Here's the link to the two decade old source through Internet Archive; Comic Genesis is still hosting the comic, but doesn't use HTTPS.
