@[email protected] I used to read a lot of webcomics. Here's the link to the two decade old source through Internet Archive; Comic Genesis is still hosting the comic, but doesn't use HTTPS.

@OutofPrintArchive I never played the NES port, but I saw Bad Dudes vs DragonNinja in an arcade. Like the then-ubiquitous "Winners Don't Do Drugs" screens, the briefing on President Ronnie was something I was expecting to be parodied far more by now.

@[email protected] Oh no, Mythologies. I'm glad I only rented that. It was like the opposite of Super Smash Bros. approach to a platform fighting game.

@CodexArcanum @OutofPrintArchive "I wished they'd made a sequel too..." Silicon Knights was working on one, but they went bankrupt in 2014 after badly losing the case brought against them by Epic Games that SK had used unlicensed Unreal Engine 3 code in Too Human and X-Men: Destiny.

@[email protected] They really just gave away the plot twist? Ugh.

"Seems that miserable old Nintendo didn't want us downloading our family's faces into the game and shooting them to bits."

11 years later...

@[email protected] Somehow, "fanny pack" sounds more dignified to me than "bum bag."

@OutofPrintArchive Julian's comment calling Ninja Gaiden a beat 'em up is odd to me, like calling Super Mario Bros. a pipe maze.

@OutofPrintArchive Another contender on The Worst Fighting Game feature. "They couldn't afford to get a traditional blue screen, so they bought a tan-colored screen -- practically a tarp -- and nailed it to the wall in their living room."

@[email protected] "Rise of the Robots was one of the biggest hits of the whole Earthshow..." I'm very sorry for them.

@[email protected] I know almost nothing about Monster Hunter, but the song from "The Phantom Uragaan" rocks.

@OutofPrintArchive I knew about the 2 console versions, but not the 2 handheld versions (Arcade's Revenge was also on Game Gear). You can hear that John C. Loose tried to adapt some of Tim and Geoff Follin's soundtrack in this video.

@[email protected] Master of Darkness (or Vampire: Master of Darkness) was on the Game Gear first, so that's the version which got a Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console release. The "hammer" is actually a cane. I found that I mostly wanted to stick with one weapon and ignore most of the others, either the cane for its reach or the axe for its damage. I haven't gone past the Laboratory, yet.
