Good news! Elder Minipeeler got accepted into the school we applied for! I started crying with gratitude on the phone, and when I went back into the kitchen I burst out into this huge sobbing like I rarely have before, that wracked my whole body, and everyone was most alarmed by me sobbing and smiling. I didn't realise how much tension I was holding in my body until it all came rushing out, and now after a hard day's work I'm utterly exhausted!

King Island Dairy is closing next year. No more amazing triple cream brie and smoked cheddar. And 60 people losing jobs in a small community. Devastating.
Definitely a loss...but their prices were pretty out there. I want to support local businesses, but can't justify the costs most times.
Oh no! I remember scrolling through the King island website, and they were really proud of the cheese π
I am SO cheesed off with airlines only offering PayID as a fee free method of payment - it's fucked because some banks will always place a temporary hold on payments to new payees - and then the booking gets cancelled! Fuck sake! And then you have to be out of pocket TWICE to try and pay again, meanwhile you have the initial payment floating around god knows where and no guarantee of when it will be returned. So fucking stressed out.

It's been a high achievement day for me. Knocked a few job applications out this morning then got day drunk and had a nap.
I watched inside out 2 tonight
Good movie, do recommend
I thought it might be kind of upsetting, because I sometimes find family type tv shows. Often feels kind of like a depressing reminder of what I don't/won't have. I've sometimes even found things like the Simpsons saddening.
But I just tried to stay out of my head and not give it much thought, and it seemed to work. Also managed to make the very last bus home of the night which is nice, otherwise I would've been walking 30 minutes back from the next one!
Kid has gone rogue, derailing the shift swap group chat and insulting people.
Y i k e s.
Plans to do a stack of laundry and give the place a bloody good tidying have been foiled after the tireds hit after an Aldi run.
Just crawled in next to Sammi (who's going well) for a nana nap.
Weather has thrown me around for a 6 today.
Hopefully itβs not too all over the place this weekend.
Warning: AFL nuffie talk
Had some really nice heartwarming moments today from parents who gave me lots of encouragements about Geelong on their match last night.
I wear my team scarf and beanie almost everyday and they know much it meant to me when I showed up super happy.
I know itβs not for everyone but itβs one of simple things that makes me happy. I hope we can go all the way this year.
I spoke to an actual friendly helpful person at the ATO today. Any other minor Friday miracles out there?
Love when my watch congratulates me for moving after a long period, but all I was doing was scratching my head in confusion at a stupid email.
Catfish! If up before the Bin Men counts.
I have signed up to do a physical activity study. I don't know whether I'm hoping to be in the activity group where I have to use a fitness tracker and app for 6 months or the control group, where I get to make no changes but feel no guilt because it is "for science" and not laziness π€£
It did inspire me to work out how to fix my scales that somehow got changed to pounds instead of kg. Now I just need to work out how to fix the thermometer that changed to Farenheit when I replaced the battery and I'll have pulled my bathroom out of the weird American vortex it got sucked into.
Iβve decided to go another course of antibiotics while we sort the cat specialist, so I get to wrestle Melbcat and feed her gross banana flavoured liquid for another 10 days! π Some keeps ending up on her fur so I think I will be buying a bib.
The specialist I saw seemed ok, not sure if heβll be able to help but was at least respectful and willing to listen.
The lightly scented home brand soap I bought is a bit drying on my hands but otherwise hasnβt caused immediate issues? Thatβs not to say it wonβt. But if it works out I have a backup soap for any supply shortages of the unscented bars.
If it doesnβt I guess it gets donated to the food pantry minus that bar or turned into laundry soap.
Despite having needle like claws Miss Meow is not very good at sewing. She keeps trying to help, which mostly involves sitting on any fabric I am working with, throwing cotton onto the floor and trying to walk on the sewing machine while I am using it.
It worked, I wore a rain coat and it didn't rain. πΉ
They've finally installed the new locks into the doors. Typical bad news: no deadbolts. Not even a proper lock. It has the same locks as on my toilet door, except rather than being openable with a butter knife, they're openable with a key.
To make up for the lack of a deadbolt, they're installing these fugly looking metal plates outside the locks. They're going to jutt out from the wall outside the door, with the goal being that you can't open it up with a bank card. Doesn't help too much when they purchased the cheapest doors Bunnings sell, and also the flimsiest looking locks I've ever seen.
They can't even be locked from the outside. When I want to lock my door, I have to push the little nub button inside and pull the door closed.
There's more bad news: they knocked back my request to have these style of locks fitted on the bathroom door because apparently my bathroom qualifies as "a shared zone". I asked what he meant by that because my bathroom is just for me, and is not shared with anybody else. He said he was told there will be "a couple of new kids moving in shortly". That's not good, because the house is a 2 kid property. That's why we each have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom/toilet each. If what Mr. Locksmith says is true, I'm going to be kicked out of my spare bedroom and probably have to share my bathroom and toilet.
I hope he's just misinformed. That's a bad omen if true
